Congrats. A lot of people bestowed a lot of love on this model when it was available. By the way, prior to 2018 Bozeman released a very limited number of these with a darker standard Gibson burst rather than the typical Walnut Burst.

As to where the J15 differed from the J45 Studio, if memory serves me correctly, it also had the skimpier carve slim taper neck.

Congratulations! The J-15 is one stellar guitar! I've had mine for going on almost 2 years now and sure gives my Martin's a run for the money. In the time I've had mine, I've experimented with various string gauges and composition only to discover that the J-15 is like a tonal chameleon. There are lots of differing, gorgeous tonal qualities on-tap in the J-15 that, quite simply, my Martin's now seem like one-trick ponies (D18, D28, D35) in comparision.

Enjoy!!

I know what you mean about the smell. My J-50 smells delicious. Is it the polish they use?

I regret not buying a J-15 before they were discontinued, especially because they were marked down to such a good price.

It smells just like my Les Paul. It's the nitro finish.

It has been maybe half a century since I have enjoyed the smell of recently cut and planed wood. They say that the smell of cedar kerfing in a new guitar is addictive. But as my youngest Gibson is over 60 and my oldest over 100, I am not inclined to be doing any soundhole sniffing.
