Default Finally, a Gibson J-15 (and its pleasant smell!) is mine.

I'm still baffled about why Gibson discontinued this model; but now I'm the owner of the next to last Gibson J-15 in Puerto Rico And as a bonus, this model is a sunburst, my all-time favorite color on an acoustic. Plays great, sounds like a good Gibson acoustic is supposed to sound with a drop of extra twanginess. Today I'm happy

J15's are really nice. I suspect they were too nice for the price point and competed too well against the J45 variants. Enjoy your new slope shoulder!

Congrats! I was this '' close to buying a J-15 when I bought my J-45. My GAS for the J-45 won out though. Enjoy it!

Congrats on the guitar. Looks great. But not really discontinued. They just incorporated it into the J45 lineup. It's now the J45 Studio Walnut.

Doesn’t the word “studio” mean it’s not full depth? I think the J-15 was. Correct me if I’m wrong.

In any case, congratulations!

You are correct. The J-15 was not a slimmed-down version like the Studios.

Not the same guitar.

I've played both of them. The J-45 Studio Walnut is slimmer and, while it's a very good guitar, it can't hold a candle to the J-15, which is Major League level compared to a J-45 Studio Walnut which is just Triple A.
