Pulled out my GS Mini last night
Wife turns 50 next month. We've got an Air BnB for a week up in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. I plan to bring my GS Mini for the week.
Since I don't have any barn jams scheduled before then I put my Eastman AC422CE back in it's case next to the Guild D-25, took my Taylor GS Mini out of its gig bag, and put the Mini on the guitar stand next to my Les Paul. I was strumming it last night, and just again I was impressed by how good it feels in the hands, how well it plays, and how nice it sounds. Anybody out there wondering what guitar to get next, what guitar to get as a first guitar, what guitar to get as a gift for a loved one, I can honestly say that for pure guitar playing fun my GS Mini is the best guitar I own.

I keep saying that a guitar player playing a GS mini is the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

I love mine. Such a great little guitar, and yes so much fun. Just gave a mini hog to my son as a college graduation present!

You are right!! Mine is mostly having spa-day in its case with humidpaks these days, but when it comes out I can count on it to be in tune, comfortable, loud & just wonderfully fun to play!!

I said the same thing when I was playing A hog GS Mini exclusively during a pulverized collarbone recuperation. I would seriously consider moving my "Best Taylor for the money" vote to the Academy 12 now.

You're supposed to play guitar with your clothes on? That might explain the strange looks I've been getting on stage.

First vocalist for my last band had a killer koa version: sounded like a good 16" archtop - rich, woody, punchy, and surprisingly projective - but with more sustain, and the rest of us couldn't keep our hands off of it during down time at rehearsals...
Gotta get me one of them little tone monsters sometime soon...

I have a GS Mini Bass in koa.
That thing is a total blast to play!

You'll get no argument from me. My GS Mini-e Koa has been nothing short of a sheer delight! I confess however, that my new(er) Martin Dreadnought Junior 10-E Sapele has taken center stage. For now.
And now that you mention it, I think I'll swap 'em. Again.

I now have Rudy's old GS Mini mahogany (Thanks Rudy!) and it travels with me on nearly all my trips. And yes, it occasionally comes out to play at home too. Great little guitars and yes I also am amazed every time. I have a friend who is just learning to play and she has an older Yamaha dread with a high action. I'm trying to get her to pull the trigger on a Mini. She's played (handled) mine and she liked it.

I like my GS Mini mahogany. It is definitely my go anywhere do anything guitar. I don't know how many remember the old TV series, "Have gun will travel", but I'm like that with my GS Mini, " Have mini will travel". Just a few weekends ago my wife was going to a two day conference and I told her that I would pack the mini and come along for the ride.

I restrung my GS Mini (spruce/walnut) with Martin Retro lights 12-54. I gotta tell you it’s a match made in heaven. The other guitars are asleep now while the Mini is getting all the action.
But full disclosure when a guitar gets new strings I always play it a lot for the first few days. The Mini is not disappointing me in the tone department that’s for sure. |

I got me a GS mini rosewood just two weeks ago and love it. Medium strings on it. I'm not a Taylor fan, but this thing is amazing. Still can not believe how much sound and character it has.

I had a GS Mini Koa Plus, regrettably I sold it. It was a fine guitar.
