So sad. Great writer and player. That twang will be missed.

One of the genuinely great early Rock guitarists. Has exerted an undeniable influence over not a few nascent guitar heroes over the years. An inimitable Basso Profondo big bad guitar style of exceptional power.

I like to play his classic collaborative instrumental composition "Rebel-Rouser" (penned with Lee Hazelwood)--AKA, "Run, Forrest, Run!"--(#6 US Billboard for Duane Eddy, 1958) as a solo acoustic guitar piece.

Here's a later Duane Eddy effort I happen to like a lot. "Theme For Something Really Important," from his 1987 album "Duane Eddy." Written by Jeff Lynne. Slide guitar by George Harrison.

1959- 1960 ish, one of my heroes, and along with the ventures the numbers of my fist school band!
