Question Bowed Neck

I have a Martin Sigma guitar and it has no truss rod...I don't know if any acoustics do..but it has a bowed neck. How do I get the bow out of it?

No truss rod? That sucks. Take it to a luthier...

OH NO!! You must have taken all the strings off at once one of those times you changed them !!
(Just kidding. Taylor says not to remove them all at once...the only builder/tech/luthier I know of to say that. It comes up as a topic here once in awhile. People afraid of doing permanent damage to the neck if they do.)

Are you sure the Sigma doesn't have a truss rod? I think even the worst of the imports have them and Sigma is a Martin product, and a nice guitar. Check inside by the neck block. (Do Esteban guitars have truss rods?)

You're right Tac5. The Sigma truss rod nut should be accessible through the soundhole. Don't know about Estebans...

With Estebans you just bend the neck over your knee.

As stated, I believe all the Sigmas had truss rods. However, to answer your question, if you have a neck issue you should take it to a repair tech./luthier for evaluation.

Estebans do, in fact, have truss rods.

I bought a new Rickenbacker bass guitar this year and was surprised to read the recommendation to change strings one-at-a-time in their handbook.

Makes sense if you ever see their bridge string height/intonation set up.

Probably something to do with the double truss rods found in Rickenbackers.

Were you concerned that in the thirteen years since that post he hadn't had the guitar checked?

Wow. I don’t even know how that popped up.
