Default Who are you going to see play this weekend?

I'm thrilled to have a long weekend off from work to celebrate the 4th of July. Made a little jaunt down to southwestern Virginia to spend time with family, and to my surprise found out that Bryan Sutton is playing a concert tonight outside of Galax, VA at the Blue Ridge Music Center. Bluegrass and BBQ coming up! If any of y'all are in the area, come on out! There's not a better bluegrass picker playing today.

So, are any of the rest of you fine folks in AGF land catching any acoustic shows this weekend?

Hoping to get out to the the Waterfront Blues Festival in Portland tomorrow during the day. Obscure blues acts on a summer day! ...if I get the grass cut and my family lets me off daddy duty for a few hours.

We like to support local musicians. Tomorrow we plan to hear a solo acoustic performer at a local bar/restaurant near Fenwick a island, DE. On Monday was may be able to catch another performer in another town (Bethany Beach, DE) - before we head out for a minor league ball game (Delmarva Shorebirds) if it doesn't rain.

Zac Brown Band Tonight, Modest Mouse tomorrow night, Zappa plays Zappa on Tuesday, Dead and Company on Thursday and Acoustic Hot Tuna @ 36th annual Bliss Fest in Harbor springs Michigan on Saturday. So looking forward to this whole week. And to finish it off with Jorma Kaukonen and Jack Cassidy, can't think of a better way! the whole Blissfest is so fun, can't too many acts to list. Sorry not just this weekend, but I took the next week and half off work.
Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Fourth!
Cheers!

You should really get out more! I'll be intrigued to see this Dead line up, a brave move by Bob, Hart and Kreutzmann and a major opportunity for Mayer to expand his repertoire, experience and audience. I'm not seeing my Deadhead friends lining up for this, but then they may not know who he is! A versatile musician, but from a different dimension. And then you've got Hot Tuna too! Awesome week.

Not really going to see anyone....however....my wife is exec director for arc here in wv. She put on a telethon to benefit the flood victims and Billy Ray Cyrus, Cody Wickline (from the voice) and Landau Eugene Murphy (AGT winner) all were there. I met them, but it was my second time meeting Landau..he's such a cool humble dude.

Not acoustic, but my wife and & I saw Rik Emmett (my favorite guitarist) last night with some old friends. It was a fantastic show.

Hi Redbeard,

Last night, I saw Wayne Henderson and friends play at Todd, NC. Monday, I'll be playing before the municipal fireworks in town.

It's a good, long weekend.

Nice! It's always a treat to get to see Wayne play. It's a real demonstration of the rich musical heritage in our region that he and Sutton were playing on the same night less than an hour away from each other.

By the way, there were more folks at the music center from the NC side than the VA side last night.
