Default NGD Taylor 916ce

After some guitar confusion, I closed the deal on this Taylor 916ce and took delivery earlier this week. I haven't owned a steel string acoustic in a very long time. After ten years of playing exclusively nylon classical, I put that guitar up for sale and bought an electric arch top. The next step in my evolution was to find a steel string instrument for fingerpicking / chord melody. My first choice was a Huss and Dalton OM. After receiving it and playing it for a few days, I had to send it back. It was a beautiful guitar and the equal of any available but it didn't have the sound I was looking for - snappy bass and ringing trebles with plenty of volume. Rather than buying blind again, I went to Guitar Center and played a few Taylors. Instant love. Soon the 916 arrived. Big bold basses, great sustain, beautiful workmanship. With a pick or with fingers, outstanding clarity and volume. This guitar really speaks to me. They are such personal choices. It's a great time to be alive as there are so many great choices. This one was made for me.

Very nice! I think the highest up the Taylor food chain that I have ever played was a 814 and that played and sounded great. I can only imagine what yours is like.

Congrats! I've played a few 900's and they were all stellar guitars. The GS body 916 would be a cannon!
800's are VERY nice, but the 900's are a cut above. The armrest is really comfortable too, and a nice feature.

It's great when anybody finds the right guitar for themselves. I'm going to stick with my 2000 914c (and Cotten 612c), but if I were in the market today, a new 916ce would be high on my list to try. Congratulations!

I recently played a 900 series. Wow, they have a nice voice. Comfy too, with the arm bevel. Beautiful!
