Default I'm Cheating On My Wife

Well, not so much cheating as deceiving her. Well, not so much deceiving her as not telling her everything.

Last night, instead of going to the guitar lesson she thought I went to, I did a rendezvous with someone who had contacted me here on Acoustic Guitar Forum, and exchanged a small stack of $100 bills for a 2012 Taylor 314ce. Not a scratch or a dent anywhere. Looks brand new.

So I came home at my regular time, carried in the guitar case that she thought held the Martin, and went upstairs to the guitar room and played on it.

It.
Sounds.
Great.

I kinda want to blurt it out and tell her everything: that I've had an intimate rendezvous with another guitar, a rather high end one. But thus far I've held back. It will come out. These things always do, eventually.

She doesn't tend to notice guitar details, though. One night I had her in the guitar room and played her something on my Takamine. She doesn't even know I have a Takamine, and she left the room not knowing it, either.

So who can say how this'll shake out? Whatever the case, I'm enjoying my fling with this sassy new consort.

Smells like trouble brewing. You better be ready with a treat and an explanation when you get found out.

On the other hand, I am glad you have something you really like.

So where's the extra case?

I get this question periodically from wife looking around the room at cases and guitars: "So,how many guitars do you have?" I don't hide anything, but I do lose track of this metric.

A long standing AGF tradition I understand. Wouldn't work for me. The guitar I'm gassing for is a bright orange hollow body electric. It wouldn't blend too well I fear. Good luck with it! 🙂

If you need any justification for your indiscretion... Just look around her closet.

Default Right

Well, she buys a lot of things on Amazon that just kinda show up and I never give her a hard time, so I think I'll be fine.

The extra case is in the closet, along with the Takamine case that she's never seen. I've actually got 5 guitars now and she thinks I only have two. I think the jig will soon be up, but hell...I could do far worse deceptions.

VT, what she doesn't know, can't hurt you,

How long will it take for the moral police to show up in this thread, lol. If that's the worse you do, don't sweat it.

Default Yeah

...that's as bad as I get.

I woke up at 4:45 this morning with a hankering to play the new guitar. Finally, after 15 it for 15 minutes I went ahead and got up and played.

While you were slippin' out....someone else was slippin' in. According to Buddy Guy anyway. Enjoy your Taylor.

Well, where have I heard this before? Oh yeeeessss, recently I sold my M-36 to a mate and he did just that. Kept the M-36 hidden at my brothers place till he can find a way to explain to his wife.
Well, the guilt got to him after a week, didn't it, and not only that the frustration of not having the guitar next to him was just too much. He folded and told his wife.
What came next? Nothing. Just a whole lot of ffffffff's and it was over.

I hope that she doesn't see your posts, especially the title. You might end up with a bunch of extra holes in your body before she figures out you just meant a guitar....

Sounds very familiar, my wife is much the same. I live by the motto that it's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission. Keeps everyone happy !

Congrats on the new Taylor.
