Default Mau Lao

Aside from the YouTube channel, I can't seem to find how to purchase some Mau Lao cd's or downloads. I love his fingerstyle playing and want to own some. Any help appreciated.

I have alerted Mau to your question, Brad. I'm glad you asked. I always enjoy his playing. He certainly knows how to bring the best out of his truly wonderful guitars, plus he's a genuinely Nice Guy!

Brad, thank you for your interest -- and John, thank you for messaging me and for your kind words.

For now I publish what I do on YouTube.

I have yet to revisit my compositions and clean them up for an album -- but as soon as it's ready I'll be sure to send you free copies...

Enjoy your long weekend.

Mau, I'm amazed you would think you have to "clean them up" before publishing. Every one of your YouTube videos are astonishing "as is". Thanks for your kind offer, but, put me down for a 1/2 dozen of your first release. Every friend I share the YouTube link with asks me where to buy your music. I'm sure you have a large contingent just waiting for the day.

Mau's artistry on guitar is only exceeded by his humility. One of my very favorite acoustic guitar players.

Mau is an incredible player. In fact I just got done listening to 'An Indian in Paris' (again), recorded with that awesome Brazilian Olson SJ, before coming to post here.

Like many of you, I've been enjoying Mau's videos on the AGF for a while now. I never even thought about him having an album because his video's and their audiophile-laden production (if that's a valid phrase) are pure art. And there's nothing more cool than seeing and hearing art! His compositions take me somewhere every time I see and hear one.

He's also one heck of a photographer too. The only thing I can say bad about him is that he may need to try a different hairdo.

P.S. That last line was for our friend Marcus Wong!

+1...Mau has a very unique signature and style and like many here, I enjoy losing myself in the listen when I kick back with headphones with some Mau jam. He also happens to be a cool friend!

Thank you for listening.

I think I might call my next tune "Since Beagle Since Mhor"...

Incidentally I just published an alternate version:

I think I might print at least 40 or 50 for the first edition...

Thanks again for your support.

I knew that treating you to a modest lunch a couple of years ago would eventually pay off...

Thanks so much. "An Indian In Paris" was composed right before I took delivery of my SJ BRW. It was inspired by an Indian waiter in Toronto who actually spoke French fluently.

I'll take all the hairdo comments. I'm pretty used to it actually...

Thanks so much for your post.

Here are a few photos of my city:

Thanks, Eric. No one has ever said that I was cool before so I am truly honoured...

It's actually a much longer story... It was the best week of my life.

We were having lunch at that Indian restaurant and the waiter tried to be helpful by putting on a Kenny G CD... Unfortunately he had the same song on repeat for the entire duration of our meal...

Thanks, Glenn. I stopped playing seriously when I was in college. Nowadays I barely touch my piano at all. I recently bought a Roland keyboard which has seen less than 2-3 hours of playing... I'm glad to have been trained on the piano but the guitar became my favourite instrument a long time ago.
