Default Ap66

I got my ap66 3days ago , an ebay purchase. The fit and finish we're great , came without a pick guard. I was planning one removing it anyway, looks great. The tone is getting better every day, very sweet. I'm playing it like crazy, can't put it down. All things considered I definitely would recommend one.

Has anyone found a hardcase that fits the AP66 ? I know Alvarez has the AP1 Hardcase, but they want $99.00 for it. I'm hoping to find something cheaper that my AP66SB will fit in. Thanks for any help.

Mark

I've an AP70. I suspect, it's the same size too. I bought a used classical case and it fit perfectly.

I also took it to a luthier and had him set it up. Money well spent!

Here is an Alvarez MP70, their solid wood version on pulse music online,

I got a restock AP70 from MF. It did need a thorough setup: there was no neck relief, and the saddle and nut slots were both high.

I had some trouble finding a case. I mail-ordered a Gator GL-CLASSIC after checking the bout dimensions, but it did not fit: the AP70 body was slightly too long. I traded the Gator at local store for a used classical case: I think it's an SKB SFR3 Freedom case.

EDIT: Turns out the SKB case is also too small. It's a wee bit too shallow at the body end. I went to The Music Emporium and GC today and could not find anything that really fit. I think I will stick with a gig bag for now.

I found that Bill's Music online had the Alvarez hard shell case designed for that parlor guitar. It works great and I waited until they had a sale and got it for a decent price. And for a gig bag, I use the 00 size from Boulder Alpine.

Best,
Jayne

Great info there JanVigne! Much appreciated. I'm having difficulty finding a Bricks and Mortar store in the Puget Sound area with AP66s to try out. Alvarez website is dismal. The AP66 isn't listed on the Alvarez website. Must be discontinued.
