Default Well, I played my new song the other day...

It was a steampunk song called 'Cooking With Cthulhu' and it did not go over well with this crowd. (Old Hippies!) They all see me as a blues guitarist. Problem is that I like writing many different styles. It's fun. I played this song, (the Steampunk song) at a song-writers showcase. I thought they would let me play outside of the box they have painted me in since the name implied 'songwriter showcase'! Apparently they just want me playing blues. Frankly, I don't mind playing blues for them, in fact I've just wrote music for two more; I just thought I could show my range of songwriting. I feel boxed in. Does anybody else feel this?

Also, unrelated, I feel the need to get a good electric-acoustic guitar. I currently play a 1985 Epiphone acoustic. I like the wideness of the neck and the sound that I get. Any suggestions?
