Default Amazon.com: Planet Waves NS Mini Clip-On Tuner

Thought I'd share ...

Just received a Planet Waves NS Mini Clip-On Headstock Tuner model PW-CT-12 and it's a nice tuner. Highly recommended. The clamp took a bit of getting used to but once you have a feel for it ... all is well

I bought one of these a while back. I love it. It made my Intellitouch tuner look and feel like a dinosaur.

Love them. Got four. Amazon has the two-pack for $27.

Interesting, but I dont think I'd enjoy looking at it upside down.
Probably have to clip it on the top of the very top of the headstock.

It's not upside down; it will have the same perspective as shown above, even when mounted at the top of the headstock which would, of coarse, negate one of the main reasons to buy this particular tuner in the first place.

Me thinks it's the position of the viewer, who is viewing it upside down

I've been using one for about a year now. I really like it, especially when I'm performing and can "hide" it much better than other headstock tuners I have. (I don't think it necessarily tunes more accurately than my Snark, Planet Waves, and Intellitouch PT10, it's just smaller. See picture below, it's the one on the far right.) (I've come a long way from hitting an A 440 tuning fork on my knee then placing it on the bridge to tune the A and tuning the other strings from the A.)

I thought we were supposed to rap it on something and then hold it in our teeth

I also vote up for the PW Mini. It works just as well as the Snark SN-8 (Super-Tight), but I have trouble clipping the PW onto my Tanglewood due to the "Diamond volute" on the back of the headstock, so I use the Snark. Anywho I'll probably get another PW down the road for my electric any my mandolin...

one feature I like: you can leave it on the headstock when you put the guitar to bed in it's case, unless you think the clip will one day cause wear damage to the finish. IMO it wont because the tuner is extremely light weigh so I doubt even road travel vibrations will be an issue. You can always take it off for long distance road trips just to be on the safe side

Bought four - then two more - went back to my Intellis PMT-50 (or whatever).

The NS in compact and accurate - but VERY sensitive - not sure they will pan out for me.
