I can't wait either. Nick sent me the photo with the comment "I think it's my best sunburst", it's really going to pop under finish!"

Everything has been so good, so clever, thus far. (That fretboard inlay is exquisite.) But these simple carvings on the heel and volute really do it for me.
Never seen the like, and one can only shake one’s head in amazement at something so well conceived and so well executed. And say, “That’s art”.

Steve, thank you so much -- having admired your guitars for quite some time, your praise means a great deal!

Default Finished (the finish)

I spoke to Nick last week, he's put the final coat of lacquer on the guitar. He took a week to properly set up his spray room. He has a small enclosed area in which he does the spraying, which has a powerful exhaust system, and a separate enclosed area for the compressor "to avoid mixing fumes and electrical sparks". Nick then described to me his breathing apparatus. A regular mask doesn't fit properly, due to his beard, so he modified a snorkel with the addition of a filter on the end.

"It looks goofy, but it works great" is Nick's assessment.
