I personally really like the cherry sunburst on these. It's very well done.

Did that Taylor include a case? If so, and one takes the case score out, perhaps this would score #1 as he gave this Epi a 0 for not having a case? Curious.

I have two Gibson J45 standards. Also own a Epiphone Masterbilt EF500 and had a Masterbilt AJ so I'm open to Epiphone (also own three Epi semi-hollows). That being said I've played a couple of the IBG J45's and found them to be ok but not great. They are somewhat heavy and dead sounding compared to my Gibson's. The Masterbilt AJ I had was far superior. I did play an Eastman slope not too long ago that blew my socks off. Voiced different to my J45's, but the equal in all aspects. The Eastman was in a far higher league than the Epiphone IMO.

No -- it placed behind the Taylor Academy, the Martin 000-X2 and the PRS P20e.
So, 4th out of six so far.

The way it self destructed during the drop test is disturbing.

The local GC had a J45 standard and the Epiphone model. After playing both, I did not find the Gibson worth the extra money.

Drop a steel ball from 18" onto a guitar? The wood dents. What a surprise.

Got the Inspired by gibson epiphone hummingbird today from AMS.

Sending it back…..has a lot of light scratches on back, and a bit high action and trussrod needs adjusting…. I think it might be a customer return…..?? anyway…they offered an exchange or 10 percent rebate. I want a new one, pristine.

It is beautiful…….and strumming it sounded really nice.

oh well, I will try another one. Or think about the j 45 version.

They are definitely pretty and they sound nice. But yes, it sounds like you got one that someone else had first instead of one that was fresh out of the box. Good luck!
