Default NGD Rainsong WS1000

Well, picked this up at the UPS depot this rainy, cold, day. Numerous comments from fellow AGFers convinced me to try something different. I am really surprised (happily) at how natural it feels and plays. Set-up iss dead on, and if rumors are true, should stay that way. Might get moved to carbon room, but since its new, and compared to wood, I gave it a shot in the general room?

Congrats!

They’re great guitars no doubt. I prefer wood overall generally, but I could not do without the convenience and flexibility that my RainSong brings. Having it out on the stand at all times for “walk by noodling” is the best.

Congratulations. My Rainsong does not get as much play as it’s wood brethren, but it travels a lot more then them
I am always pleasantly surprised when it gets new strings. It really does sound good.

Here’s a riddle
What has been cross country several times but has not moved
My Carbon guitar.

Used to have one. Gave it to the kid across the street when he went off to college in a mountain town. Knew he wouldn’t know or worry about temperature or humidity. Kid graduated, guitar survived.

I've thought about CF for a while now. The color changing aspect is new to me though.

It's a black guitar with a gloss top. It's merely picking up different lighting from different parts of the room.

Those Concert Hybrid guitars were a heck of a good deal when Rainsong started building them. They have been discontinued for several years. I love the blacked out look.

The tops on the Concert and Concert Hybrid Series guitars are unidirectional carbon fiber. To me they look a bit like a transparent black stain over sitka but with a bit more of a 3D depth and a silvery appearance. I think it looks quite cool on most tops.

Congrats on the Rainsong, Dave! What made you pick the Rainsong over other CF manufacturers? I've been contemplating getting one myself.

Rainsong makes a great instrument. Congrats on yours!

I have an original WS3000 12 string, and find this body size w cutaway “just right”. Very comfortable and full size sound.

I also have an original APLE and it’s just plain great too.

I keep these for a high altitude, low humidity location and they’re perfect there. I wouldn’t be sorry to keep either at any altitude or humidity, just plain great guitars.

Hope you love yours OP!!

Nothing in particular. Ive known of the brand and their excellent reputation for quite a while. Heard mostly all positive reviews here, and this crazy winter climate this year got me more interested.

Im really surprised at how much it feels, plays, and sounds like a “regular” guitar! I do understand why the have a following.

Steelvibe- thats a great description. It is really cool, and I have yet to see a photo that conveys its real-life appearance. You just have to see one to really get it.

Congrats! I 'm SO wanting that guitar!! All my guitars are so dry right now and every year they get that way. I have been looking for a Rainsong but just afraid to pull the trigger, I have three acoustics and a Tele. Do I need this ? yes.

Congratulations Dave!

Great looking guitar! That's fascinating how it picks up different colors! Sort of a chamelion!

I have never had the chance to play a carbon fiber guitar. I look forward to it one of these days.
