Electric guitar setup (ii)
I just got done setting up an older First Act electric guitar. I was shredding on it. And with a decent setup, even with lousy frets (didn't have tools here at work to address them) it plays really well.
My work is public HS math educator. My students know I play and they bring in their guitars for me to check out. I'm no luthier but I can (acoustic) shave saddles, cut nut slots, set saddle height, make intonation adjustments and adjust truss rods well enough. I have a few allen keys and screw drivers in my desk. It's test day, so I had some down time to look at it. The point: Regardless of the name on the headstockcost/value/retail price of the guitar, GET IT SETUP! Cheers.

YamahaGuy, I wish I had a teacher like you when I was in high school but I'm guessing you weren't teaching 35 years ago .
