A friend once told me the only way to fight G.A.S. is with G.A.S. (get another salary).

There is no cure for GAS, you can only hope for remission.

What keeps my GAS in check is:

1. my wife
2. my relatively-limited funds
3. my inability to play guitar at a high level

I go shopping for RVs on Ebay motors when I'm tempted by GAS.

It helps me remember I already own a bunch of guitars, and have to deal with their humidity requirements,
and, then I think about how I don't yet own a camper - or any of the associated care and feeding of one.

Less is more. Les is also Paul.

Glad it's Friday - I'm ready for the weekend. Starting off with the staff holiday dinner party tonight at a local steak house.

yours in tune for the holidays,
amyfb

I get gas reading this post, especially bringing up Martins. How about doing some trading? Somebody trade with me for a Martin, for the love of God! Ive got some tasty ones in the classifieds, you need a new Rainsong or Cole Clark, need!

Not at my house! The last time I had a GAS attack for an older D-18, I talked about it for two days. Finally I told my wife that I didn't really need another one. She said, "Yeah, don't spend the money on a guitar, we'll put it aside and when you die, I'll buy you a nicer coffin."

So I got the Martin, and will be getting a pine box instead of a mahogany one. Oh, we'll be celebrating our 40th in another week.

Rather play a nice box and get planted in a cheap one? Huh. Guess I've got my next excuse ... Er ... Justification all lined up!
