Depth is actually 4.25 not 4.75, I think Taylor got a typo in there somewhere, but still as deep as most OO or OOO size guitars.

Nick, congrats on the new 811. As you know, the scale on the GT is magical. With the 811, you've got the top of the line GT.

That would make way more sense. 4.75 would have me taking a second look.

The specs on this Hiscox case look real good in terms of fit, haven't tried it though: https://hiscoxcases.com/products/lar...se-pro-ii-spec
Also two cases by SKB look to be a good fit, but again haven't tried them:
https://www.skbcases.com/products/th...xe-guitar-case
https://www.skbcases.com/products/00...ic-guitar-case
For me the first one for a classical looks to be the better fit, but Sweetwater recommends the OOO case for the GT, but perhaps they haven't tried the classical case which is a little shorter for guitar body and overall length. They have others they recommend for the GT.

I tried an 811 last week since there are a few out there brand new in the low 2’s (on line) but decided it’s not for me. I wanted it to like it because at the price I was seeing, it was super tempting, but the in the end, I figured out that I prefer a different tone. It really is a nice guitar but I just couldn’t pull the trigger.

OT, but just to help ya, it's super easy and very intuitive once you see the system. Here's a link if you're motivated:
https://www.taylorguitars.com/guitar.../model-numbers

To the OP,
Glad you found the new GT to your liking. It's all about your ears and fingers, so kudos to you! You may consider looking at a different body style as opposed to keeping your other GT: having different voices is a wonderful thing in the ol' musical toolbox. Food for thought

Edward

I’ve got my other GT listed on a couple of selling platforms. If the right offer comes in it will go. Seems very slow moving on the used market here in the UK at the moment though

This is really useful thank you! I might contact Hiscox direct as they are only a couple of hours drive from me.

I’ve been in touch direct with Hiscox and I’ve got a large classical case coming next week. They will also supply further pads to ensure best fit if necessary but I’ll wait and see how the fit is from standard.

The Hiscox Large Classical case arrived today. It’s a perfect fit for the GT (see photos). The case itself is very lightweight and seems very well made. There’s a small gamp between the bottom of the waist area of the guitar but zero movement at all.

Very happy. I’m probably going to see if I can move on one of my Taylor Aero cases as this is light and less bulk.
