Default New York Music Emporium - Amazing Store! (Long Island, NY)

(I'm not sure if the "general acoustic guitar discussion" is the right place to post this) but today I wanted to try a J-45 so I went to New York Music Emporium in North Bellmore, New York.

It's incredible! They actually have a separate room just for Gibson guitars. They had about 10 Gibson acoustic guitars, and many electrics. To compare, my local Sam Ash and Guitar Center only usually have like 2 Gibson acoustics. The acoustic guitars had new strings on them too, whereas the chain stores sometimes have guitars with old strings.

This store also had a separate big room for Taylor guitars, and a separate room for Martin guitars.

The sales guy there was excellent. We had a great conversation and he wasn't pushy at all. He was very knowledgeable too.

This store is a "mom and pop" store, (it's not a chain). I will gladly give them my business when I can.

Just wanted to post my review here, so that others who live locally on Long Island can check out this amazing store! I left them a review on Google too.

Thanks for the tip. It sounds like a cool place.

I went to Mandolin Bros. many years ago and had a similarly great experience. Sounds like along Island might be a guitar Mecca.

Did you try a Gibson SJ-200 to compare with your Epiphone J-200?

I'm on LI as well and always say I need to to go there. After your story I'm going to make a point of it.

I was there 4 or 5 years ago and thought it was a nice shop. I'll be looking for a Gibson electric next year, I'll have to stop back!
