Default GS Mini open tuning?

Right now I'm using Martin Light Medium strings in Open D tuning.

Is anyone else playing their mini in an open tuning? If so, what key and what strings are you using?

Hope this topic is interesting.

I have my GS Mini currently tuned in DADGAD and stringed it for that purpose with medium D'Addario's which I still had in the drawer. Normally I use lights on all my guitars, but for DADGAD mediums work fine.

My wife's GS Mini lives in Open G tuning all the time, and she prefers the lighter tension of light gauge strings (52-12). It maybe lost a little volume and tone by taking off the stock mediums, but is worth it in playability.

My all-hog mini is always in DADGAD and am currently using Martin Retro lights. Nice woody, full tone and not much of a loss in volume compared to mediums, and the lights produce more sustain when capoed on the higher frets.
