Not on the nevergreen side where I live. We started with the driest spring ever. Then we've had the earliest starting, longest lasting, hottest temperatures on record here at the confluence of the Yakima, Snake and Columbia rivers. Triple digits for three months now. No rain of course (we don't usually get any rain here except October through April).

That all said, my basement guitar room has been more humid than ever. High 50% - low 60% relative humidity all summer. Even with my AC running constantly, drying out the air, the humidity stays high. I live right by the Columbia river, and 105 F - 118 F air can hold a lot of moisture. When that air gets cooled to about 77F upstairs (71 F in the basement) the RH shoots right up.

On the two or three days that temperature dropped to the high 80's my basement RH also dropped to 45%. In fact it starts to drop before the outdoor temperature changes.

On the plus side, we're inundated with smoke from yet another "worst fire season ever." But no, don't anyone worry about climate change - nothing to see here.....

Humidity in our house is usually between 40-55%. Due to the wet summer weather we've been having lately it rose to 80% over last couple of days. Silica bags in the case keeps the guitars at around 53%. (My old un-cased Yamaha FG 365s seems to laugh in the face of (relative) extremes of humidity).

Mine stays at 47% year-round. Soon though I'm building my own climate so I don't have to listen to my dehumidifier going 24/7

We had a rainy July, indoor humidity hit a yearly high of 52. The big honkin humidifier is back to working to maintain 42.

Dehumidifier in the summer. Humidifier in the winter. There are a couple months a year when nothing is needed.
47-52% year around.

This morning, Fred has passed and I'm down to 76%. Like I said in the beginning, it's always humid here at the end of August but all year it's been like living in a rain forest. We had snow on the ground all winter except one day. Then we had a rainy spring and the highest rainfall total of all time for July. Oh, and we now have tropical storm Henri getting ready to pass by.

I don't have AC, I have a window unit that I could put in but it's always cool here. This morning it's 63*

I always keep the guitars in their cases and they still sound good. But I'll be happy when this all passes.

(Our leaves are already starting to change)

I've switched the window a/c to the "Dry" setting (never used it before) and it keeps me in the 50's. The humidity this week is out of control, NY feels more like Florida.

We got a dusting of humidity overnight, the white kind, on Mounts Yale, Columbia, and Harvard.

Isn't it still August?

My guitar room has a dehumidifier so it's always around 45%. Unlike my last two guitar rooms, this one isn't in the basement.

I drilled a hole in the floor and attached a hose to the dehumidifier so that it drains into my drainage pipe in the maintenance room below. Convenient.

Phoenix. This year we’re loving a normal monsoon season, June 15 to September 15. The guitars are out of their cases and enjoying the stand life. With the central AC house humidity swings from low 40s to low 50s according to the hygrometer next to the stands. Since we’re in for a week or more of dry heat they’re going back in the cases today. Summer break is is over.

I have a dehumidifier, but I don't (yet) have the capability to drain it outside and run it continuously. So my studio humidity is cycling between mid-40s and upper 60s on a more or less daily basis. I worry that this may be worse for guitars than just letting it get to around 70 and stay there (although the latter scenario would definitely be less comfortable for me!). What do folks think?

It's summertime in the south (USA), so that means it's hot and humid.

94 degrees outside and 79% humidity. Inside the house, it's 74 degrees with 50% humidity.

In my cave it is currently 49% humidity and 73 degrees. Perfect for my instruments, dogs and me.

I've been running A/C, due to the smoke more than the temp. And as a result, I've been running my large de-humidifier more to knock the RH out of the low/mid 50s into the mid-40s, where I prefer it. Not a huge change, but the tank fills 2x/day, and I don't have a convenient place to connect a hose.
