J45s are excellent guitars. Play it long and well.

It is an amazing guitar. Used it at rehearsal yesterday and it killed. The three singers noticed its tone right away and how it worked with their voices.
It just got me so motivated I didn’t want to put out down.
I can’t recommend Dave’s more. Great selection, great staff.

Oh and the wife is an awesome singer and a member of the group

Can't go wrong with the old Gibson workhorse. Well, I guess sometimes you can, but it's good you tried before you "buyed" and got a good one. Looks like a beauty! Major congrats!

Dig it.

My J-45 has been my #1 for over 2 decades.

It's really all I need.

Congratulations.

I was using a Tech 21 Acoustic Fly Rig and a Ditto 2 looper to a Fishman LB Mini with my Guild D-260.

I am so blown away by the tone of J-45 acoustically though, I don't really want to do much processing with the signal, so I went straight to the looper into the Fishman LB Mini. I was amazed with the sound I could get by tweaking the EQ on the Mini and the tone dial on the J-45. The LR Baggs Element VTC while a UST may be the best UST i've ever heard. It wasn't that tough to get a great sound yesterday.

Oh, and it's so dang light compared to other guitars I have played.

Truly, the only other ones I felt were in contention to purchase this weekend was a 1960's Hummingbird model that simply was so stupid and amazingly good and a Martin D-35. But the sound and feel of the J-45 won the day for me.

Don't get me wrong the D-18, D-28, HD-28, 000-18, 00-28MD Martins were all awesome. So were the 400, 500, 700 Taylor Series. There really wasn't a bum guitar in any of those.

Now, I did try a Martin D-45 Modern Deluxe while there. I will admit, that is in another class all by itself. My wallet seemed to be shy of the $10K asking price. Truthfully, if I had that much money, I still would by the J-45 but I'd put a hefty down payment on the D-45!
