Default Mangans on the HD28

Put on some Bluegrass gauge of the Curt Mangans on the HD28 about a week ago, been real pleased, the bass is nice and tight with a sweet resonant mid/high range. The kind of sound I really like. So far they are the best strings I have tried.

The HD28 has quickly became my favorite guitar. Not as comfortable as an OM (duh), but that sound is worth it !!

Everyone keeps mentioning CMs... going to have to give those a shot at some point. I have mine strung with EXP-17s right now...much better tone than the stock MSP7200 and they feel like they are lower tension than even the DR Sunbeam 13 - 56s.

But yeah, the HD-28 really kicks azz. Just a great guitar.

gotta agree on the mangans, was buying expensive newtones, and TI spectrums, now it is mangan or martin fx- cheaper too, although that wasn't an issue with me.
