Tony,
You are an artist and a tactician. Moving on both fronts. So glad to be included on this thread to see poetry in motion. I'm frequently in east TN and would love to stop by sometime. Warm Regards, Billy |

I'm very impressed Tony. Beautiful work.
Please tell us how you finish that carved area. What do you do in the stippled areas?

Simply stunning Tony. Your work on the peghead is perhaps the most impressive. Several have said, “wow!” Let me add another:
Wow! Steve |

The stippled areas are bunches of little dots made with an electric graver with a custom tip I made for it. Years ago I used to use a little phillips screw driver...it looked very nice but took FOREVER!. The electric graver is a little faster but still a slow process. As far as the finish goes...well...I am currently working on it. The initial plan was for the carvings to have one thin satin coat to keep it looking "natural". I should know this week if it's gonna turn out like I planned or if im gonna have to visit my shrink over the whole deal... Hi Steve, Thank you! That's always nice to hear |
