Thanks KevWind. They stick with the all wood theme and are easy to see both for the player and for other players too.
I’m adding Desert Ironwood fret marker dots on the sides today.

Default Little Dots

My plan is to use 1/8" diameter Desert Ironwood burl dots in the corner fret markers. That's not something you can buy so it's time to break out my little block of dot tricks:

I normally use diamond hole drills for shell and stone but the resin in the wood makes it almost impossible to get the dots out. So I'm making my drill out of brass tubing. Take a thick walled brass tube and drill into it with whatever diameter dot you want. Then put a couple cross cuts on the end to serve as teeth:

The advantages of starting with a tube is it's easier to center the enlarging hole and you can use a piece of hard wire to push the plug out once it's cut

It works!

Here they are in place:

Thanks for viewing!

Thanks for commenting Bard! Sometimes when you know exactly what you want you need to create the means to get it!

Default The Heel

We are going with an asymmetrical heel on this guitar. This is a comfortable style because it allows additional clearance for the palm of your hand when playing up high:

It also has a larger heel cap to show off more of that beautiful Desert Ironwood burl!

Default Inlays Finished

The last of the inlays are finished on the upper bout:

I'll have a full day of fine clean-up to do and the guitar will be ready for finish!
