Remember The Bangles? A few #1's and some great covers.........
Plus i heard on the grapevine that she used to record in the nude, which doubles the vote.

hey there seems to be a few repetions here, how about we start one of those bar chart measuring polls where folks can vote on their fave female singer / player ?

Who knows how to set this up .. ?

cheers.

Default Joni! It's Not Even Close!!!!

Joni - IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE!

AND... Joni used more original open tunings than all of us put together. A true one of a kind artist, that one!

Also a true environmentalist who never allowed a record company to dictate anything or tone down her environmental messages. All original songs & music that she wrote. A heckuva painter as well.

This old gal is incredible.

+1 for Patty Griffin. Just love her, and I have now seen her live 3X. Need it to be more.

I concur with the other posters who said: Nancy Wilson (Heart), Sheryl Crow, Joni Mitchell, and Sarah McLaughlin (sp?).

Jon and Billy McLaughlin are guitarists.
I think it's McLachlan... (just a guess!).

Joni created music from 1968 to 2009.
From decade to decade/album to album she expanded her musical style and kept moving forward. She was/is an incredible songwriter and artist.

No one's mentioned Debbie Davies. She primarily an electric player, but one of the best blues guitarists around, female or male. Made her bones as an Icebreaker, backing up Albert Collins. Now she fronts her own trio on live gigs.

I always liked Mary McCaslin and Joan Armatrading. "Love and Affection" and "Down to Zero" are classics!
