One of my favorite artists, Will McNicol and his guitar built by Tom Sands. Always amazing recorded sound.

All great suggestions above.
Peter Finger's guitar sound is very good, if I may add. As much as I love that "expansive" super hi-fi guitar sound which started with the Windham Hill records in the early Eighties, I must say for some reason recorded acoustics of the Seventies come to my mind primarily. I have always admired the strummed guitar sound on Bob Dylan's "Hurricane", or that of "Suite Judy blue eyes", or John Martyn and Nick Drake, or Cat Stevens...

Recorded guitars are processed so much that it is difficult to know just how the guitar would actually sound acoustically.
I don't listen to recordings for the purpose of buying a guitar. That is unless the recording is just the guitar in front of a good mic, like they do in the Demos from Music Villa.
