Puh, that's really hard to decide. 2023 has been a wild year of GAS, but if I had to decide, it probably would be my Blazer & Henkes OM28. Amazing guitar that I got in December 2023, from the final batch of these renowned makers. Willi Henkes told me, that for his personal taste it's the best OM28 he ever built, and that he never played a vintage OM28 he likes better than this one. And if ever I would decide to sell it, he wants to be the first to know.

For me, it's my D18GE. I have owned two other GEs as well more expensive, prettier, and probably better sounding guitars, but nothing has ever played better or fits me like this GE.

I definitely have a few I'd never sell, but pressured to do just one, it'd be my Heritage 575. That's a guitar I can enjoy at home, gig with, whatever...sounds good plugged into almost anything, and decent unplugged...
They really don't make them like they used to, and a new one is WAAAY out of my budget for the foreseeable future. So yeah, the 575. And then my Martin...and my tele...and... |

I'd say my 00015SM. I made the mistake of selling my first one. I still don't know what I was thinking.

If there's one I have no plan to sell, it's this Hsienmo redwood sinker with cocobolo. Down the road I would like to get a grand auditorium with a redwood top, but would probably keep both.

Never is a long time ...
But that said the one guitar that would likely qualify for me is my Woolson Sound Craft Sig model (the Scotsman) I would be keeping it not only for the qualities of the guitar itself but also for the history and story of how I obtained it (winning the Raffle at the last B.I.G.) I have yet to see a photo that actually does this guitar justice to compare to how it looks and the woodwork in it in person. 1964160942.jpgAttachment 103311Attachment 103312 Last edited by Aspiring; 01-23-2024 at 09:10 PM. |

Easy, my Guild. My wife gave it to me for a birthday present and we take gift giving seriously. We don't sell gifts.

I own a few really nice guitars.
Yet for me personally, Guitars are for the most part just things . Tools for the entertainment of myself and hopefully sometimes others. But the one I would never sell is the Taylor 750 12 string my wife bought for me

This is a purely theoretical exercise for me: I’d never willingly let all but one of my guitars go. I suspect that’s true for most of the rest of the folks who’ve posted in this thread.
But the one guitar I’d never ever let go is the 000-42 that Scott Baxendale built for me back in 1989. Technically it’s a Mossman - Scott owned the Mossman brand name at the time - and so far as I’m aware it’s the only Baxendale Mossman Triple O in existence. It’s a great-sounding guitar, and plays beautifully. Anyway, even if I wanted to I couldn’t get rid of it: one day when my daughter was about five I was playing the guitar in the living room, and she came up to me and said: “Daddy, when you’re dead I want to have this guitar.” I said: “Well, I’m not planning on dying for a long time.” She said: “Oh, I know, but I want to get this guitar when you do.” Out of the mouths of babes… So, anyway, that guitar is promised, and has been since the early 90’s.
