I’ve made a few longbows myself, and glueing in ‘set’ is a great way to engineer in performance. I think archery and musical instruments push wood to the very limits of performance. So this subject fascinates me. I know what you mean about POC. It’s the wood of choice for longbow arrows, and I’ve made several sets of arrows from it. Lovely even smooth grain.
