Thanks Simon for sharing those details.

I’ve made a few longbows myself, and glueing in ‘set’ is a great way to engineer in performance. I think archery and musical instruments push wood to the very limits of performance. So this subject fascinates me. I know what you mean about POC. It’s the wood of choice for longbow arrows, and I’ve made several sets of arrows from it. Lovely even smooth grain. Not too stiff, not too soft.
