(Me too)...Folks I’m reviving this year old+ post re the OP's Watts-Greenfield discussion video because -IMHO- Michael Greenfield presents the most informative, clearly articulated description I've heard regarding what we hear as tone in terms of “attack” & “decay”. as it relates to groupings of tone woods with low, medium, or high density. He manages to do this in less than 3 minutes spanning the marks of 9:40-12:30. This was quite enlightening for me and I think perhaps would be for others. The whole video is remarkable re other topics such as Brazilian RW, “The Tree”, spruce tops, master grades etc., but if you’e pressed for time I highly recomnmend at least listening/watching 9:40-12:30.
