I recommend getting up, taking your guitar out for a walk, and meet people. A puppy also works well.

How about some joe or a Red Bull before you start playing? Just a thought.

I must be in the minority because when I play before sleepytime I get all geeked up and can't sleep for at least an hour or so.

Me too. If I grab my guitar late at night to strum for a while I will always get myself all wound up!

You're not kidding! Not really related to the subject of this thread, but my wife and I recently visited a couple on their sailboat in Ft. Myers, FL. They have two very small dogs, a Westie and a Dachshund. We took the dingy to the beach and the "babes" that would stop to pet the dogs and chat was unbelieveable. I'm sure it's already known to most guys that small dogs are considered cute and they are total chick magnets.

Moral of the story? We don't own a dog anymore, but when we did, it was a larger dog. We sail locally in Canada, but when we retire in 4 years and plan to sail in southern waters, as much as having a dog on board can be somewhat of a pain, I think we'll get a very small one -- not because I particularly like small dogs, but when it comes to attracting the ladies (especially those showing cleavage), the smaller the dog the better (if you know what I mean ). Do you think my wife will catch-on? If so, that's ok 'cause I've told her I soon plan to write a country song titled "The Day I Stop Lookin' Baby (I'm Of No Use To You)"

I feel asleep watching a movie last night with my wife. I woke up with my OM still on my lap and still holding the pick... it's not the first time

If I start to get tired or sleepy I play a few songs that remind me of old friends and good times. Those memories can put a little spark in the session. Also, if I want to, I can put my wife to sleep in about 30 seconds with the right song and rhythm.

Can't help you until I get more information. Please answer the following questions:

(1) WHAT KIND OF MUSIC YOU PLAY?
(2) YOU'RE IN A BAND?
(3) YOU PLAY JAZZ OR BLUES?
(4) WHERE ARE YOU PERFORMING?
(5) HOW LONG YOU'VE BEEN PLAYING?
(6) I ALWAYS WANTED TO PLAY THE GUITAR, BUT DON'T HAVE THE TIME.

Sorry# 6 was about me, but I know you are not interested....

It's all about you! It's all about you!

Not to steal the thread, but there's two of the best reasons why it's great being a man,
