Snowflakes!

A fairly rare inlay (dots are so cliche!).

Blank is a close second .....

When I ordered the Kottke I was a little wishy-washy about the look of a blank fretboard. Not anymore - I liked it as soon as I saw it. I voted blank, although I do like the snowflakes.

I'm guessing this to be a 6 string monster, right?

Yeah, another sixer. I was thinking 12 string at first for a third guitar but realized that despite my love for them another 6 string would be more practical for what I want to do.

I'm a blank fretboard kinda guy -- Just looks classy. If anything, drop a couple pin dots at the 12th fret for reference.

BTW, if I find out you put a turtle pickguard (Or anything other than clear) on what sounds to be an absolutely beautiful instrument, I will personally break into your house and rip it off!!! NO PICKGUARD -- GOT IT?!?

Go with pepperoni and the pickguard. Don't listen to the others.

None of mine are blank, but blank with side inlay markers would be cool. I like the small dots on my Larri OM-05 and the medium ones on my GS. The ones on my Martin are a touch too big. Take a look at them at the online dealer sites and you'll see what I mean. For something different, take a look at a Guild D-55's fretboard.

I say blank with no pickguard (or clear). You still have the side markers for reference and I think the ebony of the fretboard and headstock overlay will look the nuts on a hog top jumbo.

Since I have a 12 fret classical guitar, I think, for a 14 fret style, I would prefer to have a marker on the 12th only to make it easier to switch from one guitar to the other, preferably an 800 series style marker.
