Default Everse 8 App Question

I'm trying to explore the Quick smart app that controls the Everse 8 to help me in a buying decision. When I download the app to my Android phone, Everse 8 does not appear as a speaker option in Demo mode so I can't see the interface for it.

Questions I have in particular are 1) are there gain controls for individual channels as well as a master volume control, 2) can you save named settings that have different gain levels and 3) are there dB pads for the channels? I switch between guitars whose pickups vary in output to need to adjust gain periodically. Oh, sing and play so will always have a mic in one channel.

the Everse 8 should be in there in demo mode, as it is on my Android. After you hit Demo mode, select "refresh" in the lower left corner. Keep hitting refresh until the Everse 8 shows up. You'll see a bunch of other PAs before you reach it, most likely.

That did it. Thanks! Odd that has to be done since there is enough real estate on the app's page to sow more speaker options and a button to indicate there are more to see.

Very welcome. Overall the app is outstanding, with more control than I originally realized, but most users agree it's poorly documented.

I spoke with a EV rep and learned the when settings are saved through the app, they're stored in the amp itself, and can be accessed from there if you don't have the app running.

Very helpful, I didn't know how the saved scenes interacted with the amp control. That being said, that interface is really poor (for me anyway) so I'll do anything I can to avoid using it!

How are the saved user settings (1-5) accessed by the remote app, or do you have to walk over to the speaker amp and access the saved settings by the physical dial/button on the amp itself. i thought the phone remote app would have this, for sure! i hope it does, maybe im just havent found how to do it, so thats why im asking here. i have the iphone version and the ev8 with latest software update

Accessible with the app. This is how I see it on my Android phones but yours should be the same.

After launching the app and selecting the Everse, you arrive at the Speaker display. Click on the three dots at upper right.

You'll see a list of options including Recall Preset and Store Preset. Hitting Store Preset will store all the settings on the PA as currently adjusted. To Recall a Preset, go back to this section and click Recall Preset. You can name each setting (i.e. Home Space, Brewpub XYZ etc.)

Default question regarding volume on the EV8

I see there are two volume settings . one is the speaker volume as shown by the speaker section on the app and this is the same as the volume level as shown on the speaker itself. what is the difference between that, and the "main" volume control when in the "mixer" section of the amp? and what is a good mix of settings of both?

The separate Speaker and Main settings are much discussed and even debated by users. One useful description I use is to think of Speaker as the actual, physical PA, and Main as the Main mix. In practice, many of us leave the Volume setting in speaker at 0db, which is the default, while using some of the other settings there like Mode at lower right (which I set to Live). And then spending most of our time/tweaking in Main.

There are many discussions about the EV Quicksmart app and you should find a lot in Search (look at that long narrow horizontal bar near the top of the threads). The larger, stick-system 30m (and 50m) have been around longer so you may find more app info there, and most of it functions similarly to the Everse 8. But you'll find a lot of Everse 8 discussions too. Welcome to the forum!
