Default Using a strap on my Resonator: is this OK?

Hi all,

I'm a mostly sit down player at home and on stage. But occasionally to do play standing up. I'm also not a fan of drilling extra holes in my guitars.

I picked up a couple of leather straps from Larrivee to attach to the head stock. These work really well and look good. Unfortunately, they won't work on my slot head resonator. I'm wondering if I can safely do this on occasion or if this is putting undue strain on the neck.

Here's the pic, let me know your thoughts.

Thanks,

Jeff

….I would advise against such an arrangement….it’s placing max pressure on the weakest point where the neck transitions to the headstock….there are alternatives like this that might work for you

square neck or round neck? For square neck I've seen anywhere on the headstock (my attachment wraps around between the top and middle tuner keys).

Round neck Estralita Dlx. Yeah, I was concerned about that for the reason mentioned. I'll look into the quick release. The nice thing about the Larrivee straps is they keep the strap out of the way for fretting at the first fret as the leather is stiff. But worth trying. Thanks.

A simple shoelace in front of the nut attached to your strap won’t get in the way. I have a bunch of those planet waves things above.

I have an Estralita deluxe too. I use the old style schaller strap locks in the END of the heel.
Good balance, no issues.

Stick it just above the nut, under the strings. I used to do that when i had no button on the heel.

Yes please do the above. Your setup is an accident waiting to happen!
