Default Best Gig Bag for Martin 0-18?

Looking at the Blue Heron 018 bag, but not sure if there are better options? Would it keep humidity in check with a sound hole humidifier, or are there better soft case options? Something with backpack straps.

A gig bag will not hold in humidity (a little, but not much)

For an 0 size gig bag I always liked the Bolder Alpine, which you can get in Tan instead of black.

I’m a big fan of Mono gig bags, very protective and durable. I think the parlor size would fit an 0-18 nicely.

Like the design of that Mono parlor bag. Probably a better option than the Blue Heron I was looking at, and much cheaper, too.

I am very happy with the Mono I picked up for my PJ. I don’t keep the guitar in it in the house. The case is better. But it is a really good bag and I take the guitar in it when I leave the house, and even carrying the guitar around the house and on the deck or in the yard.

Got a reply from Mono saying their OM/Classical bag should fit my 0-18, but I was sure the Parlor bag was the best fit.

Guitar specs:
38-5/8" x 13-1/2" x 4-1/8"

Mono Parlor Interior:
39" x 14" x 4"

Mono Classical Interior:
40" x 15" x 4.5"

Being that its a bag, I wouldn't think that extra 1/8" thickness would matter much, but maybe it does. Seems like the Parlor bag would be the better fit reading the numbers, but maybe I'm missing something.

why not go with a Martin hybrid case? way cheaper then the Mono bags, I just bought a brand new Martin hybrid case new for $90.00 that is very durable and looks stunning inside

Personally, I wouldn't keep it in anything but a HSC - if it's a matter of keeping both hands free there are harness attachments that allow backpack-style toting...

Never heard of it. Not getting anything that looks relevant when I search Google for Martin Hybrid Case.

I bought 2 of these last year from amazon.. Love them. It is sturdy enough for my 6 year old to climb on with my acoustic inside! Freaked me out but no harm done. One for my OM and one for my 12 string. Hate carrying the heavy cases if I can avoid them. These are much lighter. Bought for $99. Now $104. Gone up a few bucks but still great price.

I recently sold my Mono OM/classical size bag due to a lack of use in recent years. Great bag and an excellent fit for my 00-18. Seems to me, though, that an 0-18 would be a tad loose.

I have the Mono Parlor bag, which is great, and a Martin 0-18. I've used the Mono for a Collings Baby, Wee Lowden, and various tenor guitars, but the 0-18 is a bit too long for this bag and does not fit. Maybe they've changed the specs since I got mine a few years back (?), but if it were me, I wouldn't buy that bag for a Martin 0-18 without being able to fit the guitar in-person.

I'm still in a similar situation of wanting a good gig bag for an 0 and haven't found one yet (but have considered the Blue Heron).

I couldn't agree more regarding the HSC!

That's interesting to hear and useful to know.

The Blue Heron bag does seem like a nice option, but I fear it's going to end up being $400+ out the door after adding all the extras like backpack straps and shipping costs.

At this point, I'm not sold on getting a bag anyways...it's just an idea. Another idea are those straps for $40 that let you haul a hard case like a backpack.
