Default The anatomy of songs

I just got this forwarded to me in my email, and thought you all might get a kick out of it. There's actually more than a little truth to it, so thank you, John Atkinson, for your sterling work here. The only quibble I have with it is the idea of a washboard solo in bluegrass music (zydeco music, sure, bluegrass music, no,) but I'll put that down to artistic license as I applaud the overall effort:

Nice. As Wade said, in bluegrass, there are no actual washboard solos. Sometimes it just sounds like there are.

And, by analogy, in newgrass, there are no Maytag solos.

Hey Wade, where you from?? Down here in Appalachia washboards are common percussion instruments in real music (bluegrass that is), just like stumpfiddles in a polka band uppin' yankee land.

I particularly love that the Jazz Song is 36 minutes long! LOL!

I've seen it circulate around social media. It's pretty funny and I find it quite accurate, but the washboard solo in "bluegrass" makes no sense whatsoever.
