Default Quite Possibly the coolest Taylor ever

I'm sure that I'm not the first to post about this one, but I was looking to learn how to play this song acoustically and found this on youtube. Check out Ritchie's axe.

that is a pretty cool rssm 6/12 double-neck
the plugged-in tone seems to be a little "harsh", imho

here's another version (he's not playing the Taylor though)

that is his ovation that he used alot live in the past. I have seen a few other ovations like this before too. Taylor is mostly a one off where I am not sure the number Ovation produced a few more of these.

Here's some skinny on the Taylor double-neck from an interview with Bob Taylor a few years back:

What about the Taylor Ritchie Sambora double-neck?

BT: That certainly was a request from Ritchie Sambora. We’d had a pretty good relationship. He’s moving through guitar companies right now. He’s done a lot of Fender stuff, he’s doing some Gibson things and it looks like he’s doing something with Martin.

But during the time he was doing things with Taylor there was a six-string guitar he thought would be neat. But, he said, “When I play this thing, it makes me think I would really like a Taylor that’s a double-neck."
We thought, “Oh my God, we don’t want to do that!” because it’s a huge project. We actually made two double-neck guitars totally by hand, but we never made it available to the public. We’re more likely to get engaged when a guitar will eventually become a model that we can sell, not a one-off custom guitar that someone plays. While it's not worthwhile to do from a business standpoint, a lot of times it’s a fun diversion.

Am I the only one who thinks that might be the ugliest Taylor ever?

My apologies to Jimmy Page, but double-necks kinda smack of Spinal Tap to me.

Default Taylor

I've played one of those Taylor's. It was at a Taylor event at the Sam Ash in NY. Got to meet Bob Taylor and everything. That guitar sounds awesome, they keep it tuned down to D for the tension and it sounds cool like that.

You're not alone. I have never cared for double necked guitars...I think they're hideous.
