New Yamaha FG735S Test Clip (guitar mic'ed)
I did this test clip with my new Yamaha FG735S. I used a large diaphram mic and a small diaphram condensor mic. The large diaphram was about 6 inches off the neck at about the body joint toward the base side, and the small diaphram mic was about 6 inches off the lower bout toward the trbble side. I panned one mic left and the other one right at the mixer.
I can't believe how good these Yamaha's sound. This thing sounds like a high end guitar at a low end price!!! I could have bought 10 of these Yamaha's (10 X $xxx.xx) for what it cost me for just one of the Taylors (614CE @ $x,xxx.xx (including the tax)) that I use to own. and to me it sounds every bit as good as the Taylor. I don't know how Yamaha does it, but I hope they keep doing it. Oh... Here is the test clip... Click Here To Listen Last edited by rlouie; 11-18-2008 at 08:09 PM. that's impressive Bob, If I didn't already know what you paid for it you could knock me down with a feather after learning how much these guitars cost.....

Hey bobc
Sounds great!! I haven't played many NICE Yamaha guitars... but my first real guitar was a Yamaha F310. I particularly like your voice in the recording... did you do that simultaneously or overdub on another take? Excellent Sound... thanks for sharing that!

That certainly doesn't sound like a $xxx guitar (price deleted before RL gets to it, ).
There's nothing more satisfying than finding an inexpensive gem that sounds like a high end. Good find Bob.

It does sound real good Bob and it's the same thing I keep mentioning about the mid $$$ Stanford guitars I own. There are quality import guitars out there that completely defy the laws of sound quality, etc... vs. price paid. The vocals are sounding good too BTW......

Bob !!
Nice job, you can't tell me the difference isn't huge versus your recordings using the electronics, now that sounds like an acoustic guitar. The Yamaha sounds very nice, had a few back in the band days and they have very good bang for the buck. Not about to sell my Martins, but I also won't argue with folks that some inexpensive guitars get you pretty close to the high end sound, and I always liked some Yamahas and Takamines. Well done.

Nice recording and playing.
The great tone doesn't surprise me, we Yamaha players have known this for years. But like the others said, go try an "L" series Yamaha.... and prepare yourself for jaw-dropping eternal bliss.
