Default ngd! gibson j-15

just arrived from sweetwater a bit ago:

i played this guy when i visited sweetwater last week . . . easy sale!

and, just for fun, my two-week old j-29, from wildwood in colorado:

the ancient greyhound is occupying my couch, so a side-by-side siblings pose is not happening, for now.

i've always been, and remain, a martin aficianado, but gibson is right up there, now, from my experience!

thanks for looking, eljay

the j-15 is walnut b/s and about $1,600; the j-29 is rosewood b/s and $2,250, just upped to $2,350 for the "2016" models.

i have only a few minutes playing time on the -15, so it has some opening up to do. first impression is that its tone is very warm and the volume is a bit on the soft side.

weight of the two is very comparable.

If I ever get chance I'm going to have to try out a J-15. I've never even seen one.

Very nice, Enjoy..
I just played a J-15 in a GC as I was passing thru E. Syracuse NY yesterday.
Also tried a J-35 and it was great, but the J-15 was incredible, wish I could have bought it. Played and sounded awesome..

I just played a J-15 and a J-35 and I honestly liked the 15 better. Real nice guitar, definitely had that Gibson sound going on. Playability was excellent. Congrats on your pickup!

They had one at the GC I was at today playing the J-45. I didn't play it. Guess I'm going back tomorrow...
