I have been using this one for a few years. They don't need much torque. Really makes string changing easier/faster (especially 12 strings ) Go for light and comfortable, (and rechargable !)

My Bosch rechargeable screwdriver works perfectly with a similar kind of tuner-winder bit that the OP linked to.

As always, the standard disclaimer applies - IMHO. However, I realise that YMMV, and I’m cool with that.

Smile Variable speed is what you want

Yo, Esteban

I would want the ability to slow down near the end of the wrapping.

Otherwise you run the risk of string breakage

I keep looking for a soft button attachment, too, as I don’t want to chew up my headstock with a slip up.

Have fun with the new strings!

Cheers

Paul

I agree with JB. I have a Black & Decker rechargeable similar to the one the OP posted, and use it around the house for non-guitar tasks. But the Ernie will do the job! If you go with the B&D, I'd recommend this winding bit by MusicNomad:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M68GLAB...dDbGljaz10cnVl

Good luck.

Yes, those would work.

This is what I got from Amazon;

MusicNomad drill bit string winder: They also fit bass tuners too, and ukuleles, mandolin, etc. And they're non-marring hard rubber.

Black & Decker 4-AA Battery screwdriver:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004H...b_b_asin_title

I don't like having to wait to recharge a screwdriver, so the 4-AA battery option works for me.

I use a black and decker close to that one. Runs on 4 AA batteries. It winds the strings on top of acting as my screw driver for truss rod covers and anything else I need a screw driver for while working on guitars and amps.

Edit: This is the one I use https://www.amazon.com/DECKER-AS6NG-...5&sr=1-27&th=1

I second the Music Nomad bit - not hard plastic like a lot of them. I use a Ryobi rechargeable with one of these. The B&D should work fine for your application.

I use a Ryobi screwdriver with the Music Nomad bit. Any screwdriver will work, but I really like having two speeds. The slow one for the three lower strings (fewer wraps) and the fast one really helps with the high strings, usually switching to slower when it gets close, just to bring it up to pitch… And also fast for UN-stringing…

I received this one as a gift and, while I do like it, it really seems to eat up batteries. I feel like I'm always changing them.
