Default I was just "ribbing" Jeff (sevenpalms) about his Webber...

he posted his 000 for sale and I was telling him he had a long way to go to catch up with me and my old Walnut custom (sold it 4 time - bought back 3) Not 20 minutes later I get a PM from a Larrivee Forum member wanting to know if I was interested in getting my old Mahogany/Adi Webber dread back at a price that I was not going to pass up. Coincidence?

With the virus, flood taking my business out, elderly mother issues and losing my unemployment due to a government website issue (no income for 2 months now) I've not had many smiles lately.

I'm hoping getting this back and tweaking it even more than I did before it left will help. I hadn't bought a guitar since last November (most of you know how rare that is) because I got REALLY weary of getting instruments with issues. Pretty sure this one is good!

The nasty pick guard will be making an exit quickly and I'll fashion a nice, thin exotic wood one to match.

Didn’t you buy / sell / rebuy your Charis too? It’s cool you find them again. All my old guitars that I wish I had back are MIA

Almost - it was a story that still gives me chills.

I sold it to Mike (stamper) and about 6 months later he offered it to me for 500 less than he paid for it. I'd had some major setbacks in my business and I just couldn't do it.

He listed it and I added some information and pictures, and said "I wish things were different or I'd buy this back"

Howlin' Bob said "well, I'll get this started" and offered to help in a big way for me to get it back.

Less than 24 hours later, enough folks on the forum had pitched in and not only bought it back, but had enough to do an overnight delivery from TX.

It all happened on a Sunday, and by Tuesday I had my guitar back.

In hard times like I've had, this guitar always reminds me there are still some very, very kind hearted people in the world.

Oops - I just realized you are correct on another "count".

My Charis Dread - I sold 3 and bought back twice.

It's currently at Eddies on consignment for a much larger price that it will sell for

I'm convinced there are only about 25 guitars out there and we just keep passing them around the forum! Enjoy that Webber....

Probably closer to the truth than we think

Fitness, I’m so sorry it’s been that kind of year for you, but I’m smiling ear to ear you’re getting this Webber back!

It checked a lot of boxes for me......1) mahogany dread 2) a guitar I can take out and not worry about as much, and 3) I really want to have one of David's instruments to take into my rocking chair years.

Only reason I sold it originally was Tom Doerr and I were talking about doing a guitar. I ended up not being able to follow through at the time.

Very cool that you're getting the Webber back. Hope all gets better. Enjoy!

Great news - enjoy that Webber! I find myself thinking about trying to find a round body to go with my OM as I love it so much - not many in the UK though..
