Beneteau Guitars finish type
Just wondering if anyone knows the type of finish that Marc uses on his guitars? I mean is it nitro, poly, something else. I have tried emailing him but have not received a response yet. I tried looking on his site and searching the web far and wide but I can't find anything.

Hi, I tried contacting him through the website a few days ago and have not received a response yet. I will try calling if I don't hear back soon, I just don't want to seem impatient. I thought someone on the forum may know.

"I use a pre-catalyzed lacquer. This means that it has a chemical hardener in it when I receive it. I think the basic formula is similar to a traditional nitrocellulose lacquer as opposed to finishes like polyester or epoxy, etc. It tends to be harder to remove but will still work with paint strippers if you exercise some patience." Hope this helps.

In 2018, Marc was still using the same pre-catalyzed lacquer with hardener that John mentioned. It was discontinued a few years back and he switched to traditional nitro.
