While they are pricey, I recently bought a Thalia capo. It comes with a set of pads for various fretboard radiuses and string tensions. Select the one that suits your guitar. For once, it seems that I can simply put a capo on my guitar and have it still sound nice.

Surprised no one mentioned so far that with a 20 year old guitar and a kind of casual owner, the bridge plate could well be chewed up by the string ball ends by now which would certainly cause chronic tuning problems. Certainly worth a quick look inside.

Someone mentioned bending a Kyser to adjust the pressure on the strings and yes you can. I've done it and here's a link
