In my "Permanent Ban?" thread, I lamented attending a Taylor "Find Your Fit" event and falling in lust with a 562 12 Fret 12 string mahogany guitar that just felt so good & sounded so sweet. I ended up letting my 'superior' self control win out & left with my credit card still cold!
Since then, I've been haunted by seeing the new K62ce 12 Fret LTD 12 string listed in Reverb at a place in CO. Absolutely stunning Koa on this puppy; but at $4600 (twice the 562 I left behind) there was just no way. Then I saw the same model listed as 'used' by a place in NY, maybe 3 hours from me at tops, for $3100. I couldn't imagine that someone had returned one (as they JUST came out) unless it was either damaged or a dud. I decided it was worth a drive (via my sister's place in North Jersey). Turns out that it had been a 'Road Show' guitar that didn't sell & was sent back to Taylor. They sell them at a huge discount with no factory warranty. A new, perfect, guitar for comparatively cheap!
