I know some builders use both. I have glued and bolted necks but no longer practice that. I think it defeats the purpose of a bolt on neck. Many other things like wood, bracing and top thickness...even the size of the hole effect the sound of a guitar. But not a good neck joint; bolt on or otherwise.
