I don't think it's meant to be switched between instruments. I think it would be ideal for someone who performs and always wants a tuner on a guitar that doesn't have one built in like some acoustic/electric guitars intended for the stage do. These are so small that I can't see it touching anything inside the case. It actually looks like a pretty appealing idea for the stage as noted, or for someone with a couple of guitars. The rest of us accumulators need mobile tuners.
