You can't go wrong with either. I two Collings and one SC. Two totally different guitar makers. The guy that voices the tops at SC is among the best from what I understand. Also, I have read where the consistency of SC guitars is right up there with Collings. I agree. My 34-d is flawless. With all of that being said, if I had to pick one guitar right now, it would be my Collings SJ. It's just the best all around guitar I own. I absolutely love it.
