I don't think you can say martin is better than taylor or vice-versa. I think the only thing that can be said about both is they're not "real" classical guitars. If I didn't have my heart set on a martin I'd be looking at the Taylor NS52CE that was just listed at buffalo brothers. Both of these guitars are cedar top/mahogany back and sides as well as 12-fret with cutaways. If you're comfortable with taylors I'd say go for that but I've never owned one but have read about the nylons having the same playability as the steel string models.
