I thought they were expensive, too...
before I bought one.
After I bought one, I thought it was a bargain. Easily one of the best music-related purchases I've ever made.
I liked my SoundSeat so much that I bought a second one (the break-down model) so that I can take it to all my gigs.
You'll find that a lot of SoundSeat owners have more than one. People like 'em so much, they want one for playing guitar, one for sitting at the computer, etc.
They are very solidly constructed, too, out of top-grade materials.
I don't think there's really any competition for the best guitar chair. You can get something cheaper, but I don't think you can get anything better.
