Just one more….
OK gang. I talked to John Kinnaird for quite while today.
Uh-Oh. Hahaha Always a real pleasure to talk with John !!! I expect we will start another build real soon. Assuming he will be kind enough to work with me again……. His wood locker is so tempting! Not to mention his SKILLS and knowledge. The world needs another big JK with the full Pablo Package. Potential Thrill Ride Ahead. Stay tuned for more What say you John? (He said Yes!) First set is Padouk. John says he will need to sand and sniff to determine exactly what the others are. The old smell test! Of course these are the proverbial tip of John’s wood locker iceberg More soon, I expect Paul |
That's a cool set of Padauk! I've been very impressed with the Padauk student build that I did with Steve and Ryan.
That last set looks pretty awesome as well--thanks for sharing the options! |
Indeed
Nemoman, your student build was very COOL indeed.
Glad you are still digging it and the Padauk! Have FUN Paul |
You’re nuts! In the best possible way!
|
I’m thinking the padouk would make a handsome and interesting looking guitar, so that gets my vote. All of those choices would sound good.
|
Great sounding too, no doubt!!!

There it is, I guess. Thinking I should give John the choice on this, at least! Padouk B&S. Now for everything else…. Stay tuned, gang Paul |
Thanks Justonwo

I thought I was done building but post carpal tunnel surgery a couple years ago, my left hand is fully functional again, and I am not too decrepit to rock and roll yet! So why not??? Play your best ones and tune UP often Paul |
I love this!! Congratulations John and Paul!

Thank YOU Beth!!!
Beth, you RAWK. That’s GOOD!!! Hahaha
Info on Padouk: https://www.guitarbench.com/2010/11/...ewood-profile/ I am all a flutter Woohoo Paul |
Can't wait to see more!
|
Congrats on another fine collaboration! However, knowing John quite well, I would be surprised if he used the term "boss tone" LOL!!!
|
Paul, you are in very good hands with John. He'll set you up with ANOTHER lifetime guitar. Life is for LIVING, and LIVING WELL! Enjoy the journey!
|
The Padauk looks wonderful.
Im on my 3rd JK. The last one being an SJ model. All of them are beautiful and wonderful guitars to play. But what you know, and now so do I, is that John’s big guitars really are something special. And with John’s comfort package, they are so easy to play. Congratulations to you Paul, on enjoying another build with John, and getting a very fine instrument in every way, at the end of the process. |
Thanks ALL
Thanks Roscoe, Steve S, Tom Bsox and NTS
We all know what a monster is coming! Hahaha So, I realized I had not enquired about Bubinga, and asked John to send more pics of his back sets. Holy Smokes! What a stash he has He didn’t send Maple or Brazilian as I have both already…. But get a load of these coming next post |
